Handmade Watercolor Showdown: Yellow Ochre

August 31, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

With fall just around the corner, I thought today would be a great day to look at Yellow Ochre in my Handmade Watercolor Showdown blog series.  I have six wonderful, unique colors here to share with you.  You just can't have enough of this color, although I probably do.  It's so perfect for landscapes and floral pieces and well, basically anything you can imagine that's fall related.  If you're looking for this color this would be a good starting point on the many options out there.  I like and use all of them regularly in my work.  Each has its own personality and all of them except the one on the far right came in a set that I purchased for a particular purpose.

From left to right:  Tuscan Sun by Artistic Isle Watercolor, Pollen by Dark Bee Watercolors, Antique by Jazper Stardust Watercolor, Cornbread by The Sprout Creative, Lemon Ochre by Ruby Mountain Paint Co., and Sandgrouse by Pfeiffer Art Supply.

They're all great colors and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.  If you have a favorite ride or die yellow ochre feel free to leave it in the comments sections!
